Cards and School is in session

Another batch of cards .... simple and clean. I really need to start embellishing more and layering more and putting more effort into some of my cards. There is so much inspiration on the internet and I am going to work harder at creating my art.

Chris is back at school and had a great first day. He is enjoying the few advanced classes he has and is excited about getting organized this year. I sure hope that lasts. :)

Suki is really missing Chris. It's like going through empty nest syndrome around here again.

Happy Weekend! It's gorgeous here in Sunny Central Florida and I'm heading out to catch my daily dose of vitamin D poolside. Wanted to share a couple of cards I made this week. These are mostly 'thinking of you' and some 'happy birthday' sentiments.

Today I'm enjoying a quiet day with grandson, Chris, before he goes back to school on Monday. Wish we had more time to spend together ... more trips around Florida. We spent the summer visiting places around our state, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Naples, Disney! It's been a fun summer and I hate to see it end.

Cool Summer Thoughts

Happy Summer! It's been a busy time around our villa. Many trips with Chris and lots of fun around town. Made these cards in between trips. Quick and simple - seems to be my style. I admire folks that spend hours perfecting their cards and the elaborate backgrounds but I don't have the patience for that these days.

Disney's Tea Cups

Can't you just see the devil in his eyes. Chris was getting ready to spin me silly on the Tea Cups at Disney World last week. I had to close my eyes and hold my breath ... boy can he spin. :)

It was sure hot out there but we had a great time ... Don't you just love summer??

For a special friend ....

I've created these Thank You cards for a very dear friend who is going through chemo treatments right now. They are simple but created from the heart. My prayers for full recovery and healing for Traci.

It's been so long ....

It's been so long since I've posted. The end of school was very hectic and then we started with summer vacation. Wonder Works, Disney, Magic Basketball Camp, and weekly karate have kept us busy. Next we're planning day and overnight trips around Florida.

These cards were done a couple of weeks ago.... for birthday and thinking of you cards. Hope you are all having a wonderful summer.

Coming to a close .....

After almost 180 days of school, we are close to summer vacation.  Chris has his Award Ceremony tonight.   He's worked really hard this year and done a great job.   Last night he helped present karate awards at the Elementary Awards Ceremony.   Tonight he'll shine.  We're so proud of him and the effort he's put into his academics, sports and being an 'all-around great kid'! 

Hope to take some day trips with Chris this summer ....  the beach, St. Augustine, Tallahassee, Space Coast, etc.   We hope to get to San Diego for our big trip.   It'll be great just to be able to slow down for the next couple of months and not have an intense schedule.
