Life a day at a time!

Been a busy few days .... went on a field trip with Chris last week to the Wycliffe Center -  they translate the Bible into other languages, very interesting.    Karate ... working on a Christmas tree project for the Academy, Christmas cards in production and general organizing this week.  I'll post some of the cards I've made tomorrow ...  been fun getting back into stamping and creating.

We're planning a 'girls weekend' in January with a couple of friends to SC and am so looking forward to seeing everyone again.  Had thought about a trip down the west coast of FL for next weekend but DH informed me the Marine Corps Ball is Saturday night ..  takes precedence over everything!

Chris did an awesome job on his report card.  Most of his teachers are so complimentary of his progress and attitude in class.  We're all so proud of him ... I know he's an awesome kid but it sure feels good to have others confirming that fact!

Tomorrow is Halloween ...   we usually decorate the yard and house but I'm not into it this year ... Got lots of candy to distribute but the decor is not happening.  :(   Can't quite get into the season until it COOLS DOWN!   I'd done with summer and would love to have a few months of Fall!!!

Have a great weekend.  Will post those cards soon.

Studio Time today!

Had some time today to spend in the studio and this is what I created.  I love this time of year and although  I should be thinking about other projects and Christmas cards, I am still being drawn to these fall images.   Not sure you can see it in the photos, but I popped out some of the daisies on the last card by using a scallop punch and overlaying the images.

I'm using lots of scraps of papers from other projects and it almost feels like I'm making a dent in my stash.  But that's a dream ... how is it we accumulate so much 'stuff' that we can't live without and then don't want to use any of it for fear it won't return??   I think mine multiplies all by itself!   Let me know what you think ... all advice appreciated!

Happy Birthday, John & Russ!

Monday is the birthday of our .... YIKES .... 39 year old twin boys.  I remember when .....  oh let's not even go there!  I'm so proud of the men they have become.  Both are independent and responsible men.  John is single and enjoying his home and two dogs.  Russ has a wonderful family, Heidi and Chris, their two dogs and a cat.  We're celebrating their special day today ... our pre-Thanksgiving practice turkey dinner ... and homemade birthday cake created by Chris and me yesterday.

This is the beginning of my favorite time of year ... we begin with the boys birthdays, then Halloween, Heidi's birthday, then Thanksgiving, Chris's birthday, the Christmas!  So much to celebrate.  So join with me now while I lip-sync "Happy Birthday" ('cause you really don't want to hear me sing!).

Happy Birthday, John and Russ!  Love you bunches!

From angelic to terror ....

This is a compilation of several years - watching Chris growing up and becoming more comfortable with the 'fear factor'. He was a ninja most years but last year he really took it a few steps toward scarey.

Up and Running

It looks like I have a Blog! Really now, I don't think they should let old ladies play around on the internet too much but so far, this is fun. :) I have my first 'follower' - one of my sons - and I hope to get more family and friends on here in the coming days.

This will be a place of commentary, hopefully some art display, and chatter about our lives. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Autumn Blessings
